Manual Boot Locking

   I have just purchased an 02 Forte and cannot get the boot to lock. When I turn the key in the lock I can hear a "whirring" noise as if somethings happening but the mechanism doesnt move. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't take the car out if I cant lock it Thanks in advance

   Open the boot & theres 3 t20 screws holding the boot trim on remove these then the trim.Then check if the metal control rod is attached to the lock & solenoid.

   Many thanks for this, checked everything and all connections in place. Went to my local car spares and they confirmed everything in working order. Turns out it was the bracket at the bottom that had moved slightly so was missing the catch. How to feel stupid in one easy lesson. Nonetheless your help was appreciated
