engine cutting out over 4k revs.....

   hi had this problem a while now, it went away for a while now its back again. the engine doesnt stall it just wont pass over 4 to 5k revs and i get a warning light for about a second then it goes off. ive replaced every sensor i think and coil pack, fuel pump, filter, injectors and still no luck. i also get a bit of shaking on idle only on 1.5k revs tho its fine below and above that. the revs drop quickly aswell. ive looked in the search bit and noticed 1 or 2 others that had a similar problem but it doesnt say if they sorted it or not, would be nice to know how they sorted it if ever did. ive had it in the garage a few times and they dont know either. need help on this. cheers

   have you serviced it ? oil and filters ? air filter?

   ive done everything except the oil. done about 10k since last oil change.
   
   i also wanted to ask will diagnostics read a fault if theres no warning light on the dash?
