Just started lowering the front of my car un-done the top joint then jacked up the strut to release the lower arm joint but as the bottom joing came out the whole strut sprung out towards me and think it has pulled the shaft out the gearbox as transmission oil is coming out pushed it back in and it sems to have stopped any ideas why the strut sprung out and will the leak now have been sorted ?

#2Drive shafts are sprung loaded ? So they compress about an inch to give it a tight fit.
