Saxo 1.4 Performance

  1. #1
Basically, ive currently got a 1.1 saxo. Im at the point where ive been driving long enough without being a nob, so i can afford the insurance on a 1.4 furio. I just wanted to know how nippy they are for a 1.4?

they are rapid, quicker than most vtrs

Cammed, straight through powerflow exhaust, race land enclosed induction kit.

Like I said vtr was shite.

I have a 1.4sx. It had one of the longest, if not the longest geared box out there and it was still pretty quick. That box crapped itself and I ended up fitting a 1.1 box which means it now goes like an absolute rocket but I also have to drive 1 gear higher than I would with the 1.4 box. Worth it if you don't do a lot of motorway miles.

    Top speed must be out.

I had my furio up to 122 on a drag.

Yeah with half the power as well.

VTS engine is 1600 16v so is going to weigh more.

Iv had my vts at 130 but had to slow down and that was on the satnav!
But im glad I got rid fucking death on wheels I can gladly say ill never own another saxo

i have a 1.4 and a VTR and the 1.4 is notably shite.
everyone goes on about how quick the VTS is and how much better they are than the VTR. The VTS is to the VTR what the VTR is to the Furio. its the same size step if you follow.

main differance being the 1.4 feels very breathless.

^ Probably because they have that stupid restrictor pip in the inlet! Do the engine a favour, rip it out and replace with a straight pipe.

Or stick a vts lump in

keep an eye out for me and we'll race and then you can see the diff
