Rubbing? Or fooked shock??

Hey folks. Quick question and i hope some people can help!

Bought the car two weeks ago, not used it but i knew the drive shafts were gone and possibly the n/s suspension arm! So after spending most of the day yesterday under the car sorting the problems, i found out i have a broken sp[ring aswell (new springs ordered) and an unsecure downpipe to rear pipe connection.

But here lies the problem, on removing the wheel and driveshaft on o/s (drivers side) i noticed there was excessive movement in the strut/shock, ie it moves when moving the hub, i also have rubbing issues on this side.

So here is the question (long drawn out explanation i know) But do you guys reckon its a busted shock? Just need some clarification before i get new alloys (as my mothers partner reckons the vts wheels are too big) oh and its lowered 50/60 mm i think

    Thanks in advance

it could be a failed shock a failed topmount or the damper retaining collar could have come undone
