#2Why would you want a 1.5d box
-
#3VTS clutch.
-
#4vts clutch, which is the same as a vtr/gti if i remember correctly?
why on earth would you want one of the slowest gearboxes though? -
#5Coz thats what was in it. I might aswell put a 1.1 box in it. What thay like on the motorway? And would a vts clutch go in it
-
#6Yeah, clutch is a clutch.. It will fit no matter what Saxo gearbox is on.
-
#7In simple terms, The clutch is attached to the engine, Not the box so it doesn't matter..1 user thanked this post:

#9I was goin to put one back in coz that's what it had in it befor it whent boom but now it's out I might as well put a 1.1 in
-
#10You're probably better off with a vts box.. if you drive it hard, the 1.1 box will go boom shortly after.
-
#11put a vts box on it. The 1.1 has a weaker diff or something doesnt it?
-
#12this is what's happened

drain plug 1

drain plug 2

#13You've sheared off the end of the drive shaft in the box? Hoe the fuck?
-
#15thats what happens when you have the wrong shaft in the wrong diff (vts shaft derv diff i assume)
they dont go in fully it puts excess stress on the shaft shears it the end goes in the diff and rogers the lot -
#16it did go all the way in mate

#17The clutch must match your flywheel... VTS & VTR -200mm Clutch 1.1, 1.4, 1.5D - 180mm Clutch as the fly wheel is machined out to take a smaller clutch..
So upto you, could run a 180mm clutch & flywheel from a 1.1 can't see the benefit though if anything a hinderence, smaller contact area so less friction in theory.
