RAC code reader on a vts?

   Hey fellas,
   
   I bought an rac fault reader to clear my engine management light as it regularly comes on due to my budget cat! Anyways it doesn't seem to work, it loads up, scans and then flashes up link error.
   
   So tried it in the Mrs ford ka and works a treat and goes loads fast.
   
   my vts is 2003 as is her ka.
   
   Could a loose wire in the code reader be the issue or do these not work on vts?

   Saxo`s use different protocols, which is probably why your scanner can`t talk to the saxo`s ecu mate.
