Mk2 saxo bonnet not fit properly?

  1. #1
Hi, I'm new to this so sorry if I posted in the wrong section.

I have a mk2 saxo and the bonnet is really shakey. I have tightened the bolts on the hinges but made no difference?

    Anyone have any ideas/queries?

    Thanks

Check to see if one of the brackets has broken/is braking?

check all the rubber bump stops are there too where the bonnet meets the slam panel

It shakes when it's closed. Thanks I will check today and let you all know

Right, I checked the rubber stops and their fine. Checked the brackets their also fine.
It's like it not closing properly. Like if you was to release the bonnet but not release to catch it shakes right. Well mines like t all the time even though it fully closed. Also not the when you pull the bonnet lever it doesn't have that little clunk sound or feel like other cars do

    Thanks again

need a new catch then?? - im sure you can get one second hand for next too feck all , doesnt sounds safe to drive around in, you'll get up to speed wind gets underneath and it could be bang bonnet in your window screen.

yeah mk2 saxos are quite common to have there bonet fling open on the motorway so i wouldnt drive it fast until you sort it out

i've never really took much notice but i cant imagine to been hard, few bolts off along with the cable? then re-fit.

Just pretty much bolt off then bolt on a new catch, easy to do

try screwing the rubber stops out a bit first

they are adjustble to take up the slack
