I keep getting airlocks in the cooling system.. :(

    Hi all...

Does anyone have any ideas on why my furio keeps getting an airlock and roasting my engine?.. :/ Everyday I have to bleed the nipple at the back/left side of the engine and all the heating comes back on etc.. then a few miles later the airlock is back and i do it again... and again.. and again... Its only Thursday and its happened 7 times this week alone.. :/

Am I missing something?.. (A piece of head gasket, maybe .. )

There's 3 or 4 bleed points on the saxo, also are your heaters on full when you're bleeding it?

If you've bled it properly, it should stay bled. Could be the head gasket has failed and combustion gasses are getting into the coolant

That was the worst case scenario running thru my mind.. There's some oil in the water too.. I'm thinking the cheapest route would be a second hand head with new gaskets plonked on..

Anyone breaking a furio is welcome to pm me..

    Why a second hand head?

Cheapest would be to get your head skimmed new gasket kit and new timing belt at the same time.

But before that get a compression test or a sniff test done on the engine one or both will tell you if your head gasket has gone.

At least you`ve caught it before major damage mate.

Yeah least you caught it. If in doubt with the cooling system then always get a sniff test or a compression test always gives a insight into what's going on inside your engine.

Sooooo, that's a good thing, right?.. :/ I mean, the head still has to come off and get skimmed and so on.. I'm too busy to do it myself and the cost of a garage will be around the £500 mark, I guess...

I'm thinking it would be cheaper to put a vtr/vts lump in it?..

    Any thoughts received gratefully..

You can get vtr lumps pretty cheap mate but I would always advise fitting a new timing belt and clutch whilst the engine is out. So that would boost the price up a little but yeah I'm sure you could get the vtr conversion for cheaper if not around the same price as a head gasket timing belt and head skim mate.

Is it the same clutch kit on the 1.4 as the vtr?.. If so, I put a new one in mine about 1,000 miles ago..

Again, anyone out there with a vtr/vts engine, ecu and loom can pm me.. unfortunately my low post count doesn't let me see the 'For sale' section.. :/
