Vtr handbrake issues! Please help

   Hello guys,
   
   Been along time since ive been on here since i sod my last saxo,but im back with a vtr
   
   Anyway, i bought the car for £600 and the owner said it needed to handbrake cables.
   
   She gave me 1!!...handbrake cable for rear drums...not discs so i bought some new ones.
   
   Ive took the old cables out, fitted new ones but this is where the problem is!
   
   Ive adjusted the cable, even to the extent where i couldnt even release the handbrake lever. Even that tight the discs could still spin freely!!
   
   Any ideas guys?

   sounds like you have a seized caliper.

   pads are looking ok, got about 3-4mm on both, disc could do with a change though...the caliper im not to sure if its seized or not..its moving when i apply the brakes..but ill give it a good spray of wd40 anyway.
   
   Read somewhere that theres a self adjuster of some sort built into the caliper and after changing handbrake cables it needs to re-adjust again..ill have a play around n see what i can do
