Important! : Power steering gone :( Red fluid leaking!

So my power steering went on my 1.1i Mk2 Saxo and red fluid was leaking out the bottom of the car and i found out it was the power steering tube rubbing against something and it had split open! and ive been told that a Mk1 tube will be better as they are more flexible and can move them about? is this true?

If its the high pressure line that runs along the bulkhead, and the track rod has worn through it? Then the mk1's do have more clearance, but you can use a mk2 one and just bend it out of the way slightly.

Yep Mk1 pipes are flexible and can be moved out the way!

Had a similar issue with my furio, so switched to mk1 pipes, problem solved!.

You need to use a suitable pry bar or similar between the track rod and hose, they do move with a bit of persuasion. Yes Mk1 hoses are slightly different, personally i just adjusted the one i've got but i'm sure someone will be along to verify soon.
