starting problem

   I have a problem with my car starting. Starts sometimes and others I just get a wiring noise coming from the engine. Has anyone got any ideas

   sounds like your altanator on its way out

   Worn starter motor ring gear.

   Start the car & measure the output voltage of the alternator should be around 14.4v,for the ring gear you`ll have to take the starter motor off.Then examine the ring gear teeth for wear/damage.
