Citroen saxo 1.1 squeel

   Hi, I have a 1998 1.1 citroen saxo x and its squeeling when the engine warms up, my mechanic said it wasnt a wheel bearing, it was the gearbox bearing. i had a new gearbox put in this week and drove to york yesturday and it is still making this noise. addvise is highly appreciated.

   did you change clutch when gearbox was fitted, just wondering if its the clutch release bearing, it could be a rubber bush

   alternator pulley bearing, belt slipping

   sorry blacksaxo devil forgot to say that the car has 62k on clock clutch release bearing went on 60k so had new clutch put it, had a new alternator belt put on a few month ago

   id still check the altenator as ive recently changed my belt and it still makes a noise so i found out i needed a new altenator!

   most alternator bearings fail at some point and make a whirring noise under acceleration. could also be the cam belt tensioner.
