iv done mine just for peace of mind only started with the rear arches but decided to go all the way the waxoyl underbody seal is best imo can be picked up cheap enough from halfords etc in either paint with a brush or rattle can and is very easy to do

Do you mean you took the rear wheels off and put it there and did You did it all yourself? also i heard if its already rusty, it soaks into it and stops the rust? is this true?

Waxoyl isn't very good as it needs to be applied often. If your looking for a more permanent treatment then you will need to grind all rust out then treat with k-u-rust and then a coat of acid etch 7 once that's dry you then apply u pol gravi guard.

This is a sort of rubberised paint so is waterproof and can also be painted to match the rest of the car this is way more permanent than waxoyl and looks better too.

Get the wire brush out & see how bad it is,shouldn`t be too bad though unless the MOT tester isn`t doing their job right.

Do i just completely spray everything underneath?

Wire brush / sand off as much rust as you can then apply the underseal or whatever you plan to use on all metal chassis areas underneath and wheelarches etc, you wont get all of it unless you are planning strip off bumpers etc but you can get alot of it.. boot floor and wheelarches are usually a good place to start

if it's just surface rust then get the wire brush out, some kurust on the job, then some hamerite stone chip coating. wouldn't touch underseal with a barge pole as it goes hard and cracks overtime then become a water trap and you'll be in a worse situation.

stonechip remains flexable. i've alsi tried gravitex (sp) stonechip but it's shite, hamerite all the way, can also be over painted in hammerite smooth finish in the colour of your car. but cause my car is black. i just used some "borrowed" new engine oil in a degrease gun (for a compressor) and sprayed over it and allowed to soak in. gave a nice glossy shine.

however on the fezzy i'll be painting over the stone chip with either 2k paint or hammerite. after a few coats of ici fastbuild
