Vtr won't start :(

   My Saxo vtr won't start unless its bumped. All the dash lights go dim and it just clicks, doesn't even attempt to turn over. Don't think it's the battery as tried a friends battery in my car and it still didn't work. Any ideas?

   Battery.
   
   Either passed it's time and can't hold charge anymore.. or the alternator has given up charging the battery.
   
   If you put a fully charged / working battery on - it will start and work - but if it die's again, it's the alternator.

   Yeah I put my friends fully charged and working battery and it still just clicked didn't make a difference then when he put it back on his car it worked

   I'd advise a battery / alternator test - are halford's still doing the free checks?
   
   Unless you have a volt-meter about?
   
   Doe's sound like a flat battery tho - lights dimming then clicks when turning key.
   
   If it's not, I'd check the starter motor wiring / try another.
   
   Money's on battery tho
