Car Bogging upon acceleration

my saxo vts has started bogging down upon low speed acceleration? usually bogs then resumes as normal but a few times it has cut the car out and straight back on, resulting in the speedo and rev counter sticking
im thinking either the coil pack is packing it in, or distributor? or dreading head gasket leak and coolent is stopping spark, but no overheating so am confident it is not that? help someone before i start buying new stuff. but there is no accelleration problems once your past 30?!

    1st off saxo`s don`t have a distributor,when did you last service it?

couldnt say, its a donor engine and it has a cambelt change recently but not sure on the filters? why do you think it could be a clogged up fuel filter? but wouldnt that result in a constant bogging out?

Take the map sensor off the inlet manifold and give it a clean with some wd40
And a cotton bud mate. It takes 5 minutes and I reckon you'll be amazed at the difference. I reckon it'll be that.

If it doesn't fix it, although I imagine it'll make a huge difference, change the coil pack. That'd be my next port of call. Both of mine were failed, and I saw a big improvement after changing each.

I've had this problem on my car and turns out my head is knackered. I bought new air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, knocked the cat out, coil pack and still had the problem. So I would recommend you do a sniff test first because this will tell you if it's the head before you go spending

Also the car didn't overheat but I did notice the coolant was disappearing
