Saxo vtr mk1 'coughing'

  1. #1
Hey everyone isn't bought a saxo vtr mk1 and when I'm driving around 1850 rpm it kinda coughs have been told it is a misfiring problem. Just had it diagnosed and it came back with something to do with cylinders 2+3. Just wondering if this is a common problem and if it is still safe to drive cheers guys

Did you get the actual fault code mate?If its a misfire it`ll come up as a PO300.

Coilpack or sparkplugs breaking up. If its on ht leads then replace them first.

It says its fault code 99. Is changing tge coil pack and plugs easy to do like DIY job? I've had so many people saying so many different things about this you know

mine just packed in one day haha.

can drive it but have a backup plan if/when it goes.

as for plugs and coilpack, dead simple job. plugs are a tad fiddly as the inlet gets in the way a bit, coilpack is (on mine at least) 2 bolts!

Cool so this is the most likely reason as to why it's misfiring then? It Seems quite a common problem I'll give it a try cheers guys
