Important! : 16v - burning smell of oil

  1. #1
Basically the 16v lump has been smelling of burning oil, I noticed it a little while ago but cars been off the road for ages and forgot then Saturday went to go for a blast to my parents and my missus said she could see smoke coming from my bonnet, pulled over and realised the oil breather once again has popped out

Now to this... I've used degreaser to try and clean most of this oil away and then i noticed the lower pipe in red was off too ( not sure if i did this by removing air box ) But what the hell is it?

How can i reseal both of these and oil breather once again has popped out slightly. I have also fixed the airbox so it is slightly raised so it stops popping oil breather out.

Starting to really hate this car again/

Best way on a budget take rocker off and do like the sump is nut on the inside and pipe take off on the ouside (plumbers shop youll need 2) do up with some locktite 250+ should do amd same on the airbox, then just run a silicone hose between the 2, change oil whilst your there :-)

How many miles has the engine done, sounds like its breathing a lot to be pushing those out? Oil takes an age to burn off exhausts.
Another reason I don't like heat wrap. I had a customer who had a turbo oil feed spew oil all over a wrapped manifold. Lucky he spotted the flames coming through a bonnet vent!
