Car completely cut out..

Driving along today all happy.. *everything cuts out including breaks, steering, music etc*, turnt the key and nothing, no dash lights. Had a look at the battery and main fuse holder, an 80 amp fuse completely went pop.

    What would cause that?

for a fuse to blow it usually means a short circuit or overload.

But an 80 amp fuse lol the fuse itself is HUGE, il have a look over the car tommorow

must be a short circuit get the wiring checked over. Have you done any electrical work to the car at all?

erm... 80 amp fuse... you sure?? the heated steering wheel on a range rover is only 50.... that fuse could carry enough power to possibly out weigh your alternator power... sure it werent a 20 that has been burnt and looks like an 80? i dont even think that the starter motor is that power tbh mate.... there must have been a massive problem, i would double check EVERYTHING that you can get your hands on on that car...

    hope it helps
