    hiya

has anyone ever had a problem with the power steering pump relay getting hot and melting???

i think a wire into the relay is heating up...
its when you look at the pins on the relay its the one that i call the bottom pin... if you look at the pins the top pin would be vertical and the bottom(the one thats heating up) is hortizetal..

what does this wire goto??? and what could be causing it the heat up and fry the relay??????

Trace the wire/s back from the relay & check the earth for it,making sure that they are on good clean metal. Also check for any breaks in the cable/chaffing shorting out against metal thats all I can suggest.

Anything over ~20 Amps will make it heat up. Make sure you have the correct fuse in, and it should be fine. You could fit a new 40 Amp relay just to be sure
