driveshaft oil seal

    2 new driveshaft oil seals have arrived and just wondering cos iv not seen these on them before, but theres a white plastic ring with teeth that point to the inside of the seals and to me looks like it doesnt need to be on there. do i leave it or remove it?

    Leave it, those are the better kind of seal imo.

    cheers. thought these ones look stronger than the last ones i had (they where flexable...ish and didnt have this plastic teeth bit). these ones however feel more solid, look to have a metal type of tip.
    do these go in with the teeth side pointing to the shafts or to the box?

    cheers mate
    lets hope it doesnt rain. clutch and gearbox going back on today now. typical though iv missed enjoying a drive in the sunshine. then when the car will be running no doubt it will rain lol.

    got it done mate. weathers been great for it except had my shirt off and now iv sunburnt all my back along with grazing the shit outta it due to dragging about under the car and getting it filthy but at least the cars done happy days
