headlights are rubbish

   ok well after driving round in my rx8 for the last month i've gotten used to being able to see in the dark but jumping back into the saxo i can't stand the lights and the pathetic light emitted from the standard bulbs.
   so thought why not get a set of hid so ordered some off ebay and then 5 minutes after saw that they had been made illegal. so what are my options for better lights that actually produce better visibility not just change the colour of my lights lol

   just use xenon bulbs in ur standard lights

   Osram nightbreakers! Best ones imo.

   one of my osrams blew after a few months but they are good

   First thing would be to check the aim and pattern is as it should be. Mine are horrendous too, I watched as the mot tester casually slid the beam tester accross the lights, it passed no problem but I knew they we're miles out.
   I just marked up on a wall where the beam pattern shone from a car I knew had good lights!
   
   Then pulled the saxo in and and spent 15 mins getting them somewhere near the same.
   They are now much better, but with some better bulbs I dare say they would come up to "adequate" lol!

   Osram nightbreakers are the best lights you can get in my opinion. Also check your beam pattern
