#2I have this problem too, any help much appreciated

#4just found the easiest way to turn it the airbag light of for an MOT take the bloody bulb out of the clocks
-
#5Not a great idea tbh as it will also fail if the bulb doesn't light up and go out like it should under the latest mot rules. The problem you've got is likely to be one of these...
- the wiring under the seats, the bullet connectors like to play up, might need playing around with or soldering the wires together.
- pre-tensioner fault, will need replacing
- the airbag ring behind the steering wheel
Couple of ways around this,
- Change the parts listed above one by one until it works
- you can get a resistor to connect to the wiring to fool the airbag system into thinking it works, the bulb will light up as it should and go out as it should.
And remember if you attempt any of this make sure you disconnect your battery and leave for at least 15-20 mins before touching anything airbag related. -
#6will have to leave it as it is for the minute and see what happens at the mot as its in half an hour but it was my mot tester that told me to take the bulb out as hes a really got friend of mine lol

#7Don't take the bulb out, it will fail.
I bought two 2.5-3.5 ohm resistors from maplins. They cost 56p
Look under the front seats for the orange wire and plug.
Unplug it (ignition off)
Take the end of the plug that goes into the carpet. And insert on tail into one terminal and the other tail into the other terminal.
Solder in or just carefully tape it all up and tuck it somewhere safe.
Same with the other side. Turn on ignition and marvel at how the light now works as it should.
This will cure 99% of airbag light woes.
Doing this will bypass seatbelt pre tensioners which then will not work in a crash situation. But will sort it for MOT. -
#8Or get a 5 amp blade fuse put a length of cable with a spade connector(1 on each blade)& then connect it into the orange wire coming to your airbag contact ring.

#9took the bulb out and it passed the mot with flying colours they didnt even question the air bag light not coming on

#12Can see alot of this happening now.
"just pass it mett, heres £20"
