Rear Beams

  1. #1
I can't fully tell if my rear beam on both cars are on the way out, i'm thinking the VTS (green) is looking abit knackered as the NSR wheel looks like it has some camber on it but anyway wanted to know what you guys thought!

    VTS:

    VTR:

Thanks in advance, i'm thinking the VTR looks ok (annoyingly )

Hard to tell mate. You are best getting pics inline of each rear wheel from behind. Also check uneven tyre wear on the rear. If the inside has worn then its likely to have gone!

Top one looks like it has slight camber and the bottom one looks fine.

Camber alone is not enough, you need to actually check for play.

If I look at the back of mine, the wheels are ever so slightly cambered in but there is no play at all.

x2 people have one glance at their rear wheels and think the world has ended.

jack the car up and give the wheel a good wiggle around. get a mate to observe were the trailing arm meets the beam as the movement could be a wheel bearing but unlikely without the annoying droning noise

ok thanks guys i will check for play this weekend, both cars dnt make an annoying drown when driving however when going over rough road (pretty much all of england) the VTS' sounds like a train going over tracks from the rear! i'm planning on getting under the car this weekend as it really sounds like something is loose, just wondering if you guys have any suggesstions as to what this could be?

Ironically the VTR doesn't make any noise from the rear suspension (bloody typical)
