No power to lambda

  1. #1
whilst getting my Predator set up last week, Andy noticed the lambda didnt seem to be reading much. i didnt think much of it, although it was a fairly new NTK sensor

today, i went to fit my new LC-1 wideband, and upon fitting the LED didnt light up. with the aid of a multimeter i found no voltage at all at the plug with the ignition on. checked the fuse, which was blown, but replacing it hasnt made a difference

any ideas why i havent got any power at my lambda plug?

hate to say it . . . but keep going.

seriously though, the wires in the back of the connections just pull out / push in! are they all pushed in enough to make contact?

splice the wire as far back as you can and see if you are getting power at that point.

i attached the multimeter to the plug with the lambda unplugged, so i definitely made a connection there. i really cba with checking the loom further back, this entire job has already gone on about 2 weeks longer than i had planned

its not hard to check it further back check each pin on the lambda to were it goes. what loom/ecu do you have?

single plug, predator ecu. tbh, im hungover and have very little motivation to check the entire wiring loom for faults

single plug ecu and loom yea?

you dont need to visibly check anything just check continuity between these plugs:

Pin 2 lambda to pin 11 chassis plug - thats the perm/switched live
Pin 1 to F11 (im guessing that fuse is still ok)
Pin 3 to Pin 4 ECU plug
Pin 4 to pin 22 ECU plug

i havent got a continuity tester unfortunately. im really going to have to invest in a decent multimeter

well i doubt your going to be able to fix any electrical fault without a multimeter just give it to someone else to fix

im going to maplin tomorrow to sort out a decent multimeter and give it a go

    cheers for your help

Have you tried cleaning up the contacts on the lambda plug/s?

When up at andys with a mate and his rallye, we had the exact same problem, still havn't found a reason why.....

Lambda only has power when the engine is running

dont know why i didnt think about trying it with the engine running, but i gave it a go and all is well, she now runs beautifully

what was wrong with it when you first went for a drive in it?
