Important! : Clutch Kits for VTS

  1. #1
I would like to ask everyone who has got a new clutch for there VTS if they have had a problem with the clutch not disengaging fully and having to wind the adjuster all the way in.

I got a VALEO clutch kit part No-826211 for my 2002 VTS but when fitted it did as described above, after taking the lot to bits (again) and checking all parts the thrust or release bearing was smaller than the one taken out with the old clutch.

I have seen another clutch kit from VALEO part No-821341 but seems like it's for an older model.

hopefully I'll be getting it sorted tomorrow but was woundering if anyone else has had the same problem when ordering a new clutch??????

Release bearings differ from clutch kit to clutch kit as they suit the pressure plate.

If it worked fine when adjusting the clutch cable correctly then its fine.

Even with the adjuster all the way in it was still touching, so I guess it's wrong. plus the clutch puller needed to move a good inch from fully disingauged before it touched the plate. As it was fine with the old clutch there's something not right.

Always problems at the min as my cambelt snapped so had to get another engine, Ended up with a P1 engine so swaped everything over so it will work on a P2 and now this.. Not a happy bunny!

I have taken the clutch back and looked at all other thrust bearings and all are smaller than the one that came out. don't know where to go from here!
