Friend of mine just put a new coil pack housing on his 98 1.1 as his one had cracked. But when he took it off there was a black rubber gasket which fell apart. Anyone know what sort of gasket that is? Where i could get it from? Or would a copper gasket which i have work? cheers.

#2News to me mate about a gasket,I assume you`re using the square type coilpack that has ht leads?
-
#3yes mate. Its like a black silicone. Not really like a paper gasket. But it seemed to come pre made if you get me, it weren't splatted everywhere like a instant gasket would go like. I maybe be wrong, hence me asking if anyone else knew

#4btw when i say housing i mean the block that bolts to the cylinder head. not the plastic coil pack itself. in case thats what you think im talking about

#6Might be like the vts rocker cover iirc doesnt have a gasket only has a silicon bead running round it, could be what that is....

#7just use sealant, there is no gasket listed.

#8We used the copper gasket and it failed after about 10 miles he reckons :/ Brought some other stuff now hopefully that will work.

#9ive fitted several with instant gasket and been fine, so go with that
