Hi guys new on here so i hope this is ok to post. I am wanting to upgrade my rear anti roll bar on my saxo vtr 2001. I was wondering if the one from a 106 gti would fit using the standard saxo end plates? or do i need to buy the end plates that come with the thicker anti roll bar? Also does anybody know what thread pitch it is to jack off the end plate of the arb as i tried a standard M12x1.75 but wasn't the correct kind as it seemed too coarse of a thread?

#2I think it's an M8 thread, and as far as I know you should be okay with the standard end platesQuote:Hi guys new on here so i hope this is ok to post. #3Hmm well the inside of the torsion bars and anti roll bar are m8 but as for the larger hole that the black plastic torx screw goes into on the end plate i think its about a 12 but obv my screw wasn't quite the right thread as it went a mm or so in then started to jam. And ah that's cool then am i right in assuming a 106gti arb will be stiffer than a standard saxo vtr one? cheers for the quick reply

#4You need the end plates aswell mate, the splines are a few mm smaller on the gti arb for some reason!
-
#5oh that's a bummer cus there's one on ebay for £45 buy it now
ah well do you think some uprated shortened shocks from spax, pi, bilstein or something would be a good investment being that its lowered about 40mm? would it actually feel any different you think?

#6You cant get shortened dampers for the rear.
-
#7yeah you can on ebay etc there's loads of them that say shortened etc i think pi and spax have been the ones that i can remember here is a link to the pi ones:

#8If you say so mate. eBay also sells electric superchargers that add 10bhp, they do though because the adverts on eBay says so.Quote:yeah you can on ebay etc there's loads of them that say shortened etc i think pi and spax have been the ones that i can remember here is a link to the pi ones:

Why did you want thicker ARB and what are you hoping to achieve by different dampers? -
#9haha yeah fair play mate ebay isn't the best source of factual info. Just want the back end to feel stiffer really with less roll. im not saying its bad at the moment by any means just thought that a thicker arb and uprated dampers wouldn't be a bad thing.

#10i think what he was trying to say fella is that they are all the same length. your ryt tho u can get stiffer ones and slightly shorter travel. i.e billies, spax, ect ect ectQuote:yeah you can on ebay etc there's loads of them that say shortened etc i think pi and spax have been the ones that i can remember here is a link to the pi ones:
