Engine 'Over Runs' when I want to change gear.

   So basically, I'm wanting to change gear and I dip the clutch and foot completely off the accelerator. The revs when I change gear (@2.5 / 3K) should drop straight away when I dip the clutch but for a second or so the revs slightly increase or stay the same then drop.
   
   My dad says this could be clutch problems (New clutch 6 months ago) or a 'ECU' problem?
   
   Can I have some idea's please.

   A bit of WD40 on the cable? The ICV has been cleaned about 10 months ago.

   Have someone sit in the car with the ignition off and put their foot on and off the accelerator as you watch the butterfly in the throttle body. See if it opens and closes smoothly and consistently. If not, WD40 up the cable and clean out the throttle body housing.

   not the clutch. mine did it on the standard inlet, and carried on doing it with a new clutch
   
   could just get throttle bodies, sorted the trouble for me?

   Give your throttle body a clean up, sometimes a sticky tb can cause issues similar.

   If its anything like the tb I just bought itll be your problem
   
   This one was full of funky grease and oil.. Shitty breather systems

   It's either a sticky cable or a sticking TB.
   
   It can be sensors causing problems but give the cable a WD40 first

    Mine used to do it from sticky cable, never bothered me tbh just became normal

    It's the ICV. When you clean it you need to oil the plunger otherwise it doesn't move freely. Causing it to overrun when you change gear.

    Mine wasn't icv ads, I fitted a brand spanking new one and it and it still did it
