Name That Noise!! Help Please

Spoke too soon t'other day about car being up together and no issues..... bollocks.

Going about 55/60 suddenly sound not unlike fan belt slipping but not as high pitched. Only happens on slight throttle - if I put foot down or ease off completely it goes away. Coast in neutral at any speed you can hear it and happens at all speeds. Pulled off and opened bonnet but couldn't smell any burning or see anything I shouldn't. Changing gear makes a slight chirp too but thinking that would be where gas pedal is pushed in and out.

could be some kind of gearbox/clutch problem try getting your head on the engine and some one changing it in and out of gears see if there is any luck there

cheers for that, sadly only happens when in motion and then need to be thoroughly warmed up. Noticed that goes away when under 40 mph. Took it to my garage who couldn't see/hear anything. They thought was fan belt but I'm 99% certain not. Pain that need to on the road for about 1/2 hour before noise starts.
Anyone happy to hang from the engine bay while I take it thru the new forest?
