ECU/engine loom question

  1. #1
I have researched on converting my 1.4 to vtr. i have the engine and ecu now i just need an engine loom.

I have an unlocked 2000 vtr ecu which has the longer 2 row single plug, would it be best to get an engine loom for that or use the ecu of the 1.4 and engine loom?

I thought that a the map on the 1.4 is different from the 1.6 that it was best to use the 1.6 ecu.

I would like this to be clarified.

    Many thanks

it would be better to get the correct loom but ive heard of people using a 1.4 loom/ecu as a tempory measure

if you are looking at converting a 3 plug furio to a single plug vtr then i have the loom you need with the larger interior plug on one end and the single plug ecu on the other

i used this on my conversion and worked fine
im told they are worth between £50 and £60
i will do you mine for £40 posted if you interested look at my for sale thread for pics

Thanks for your replies, the furio i have is single plug, i think the vtr engine i have is a slivertop around 1998/9

I also have a 2000 single plug vtr ecu that i am going to use, just the ecu is longer and only 2 rows so i need the same engine loom as the ecu. will there be any differences as the engine isnt 2000 and would it be advised to use the vtr ecu rather than the 1.4?

I havent yet checked the interior loom yet, thats the next thing ill do when it stops raining
