could a lambda sensor be the cause of an intermittent low 500rpm tick over on some days and a 1 .3k rpm tickover on other odd days where as when the car behaves its around the 950 mark. Its on a 1.1 mk1 so with single point injection. Its the last thing on a long list of almost everything checked/changed including 2 ex pug techie's! The odd thing is its got through two emissions tests ok but as i said its an intermittent problem.
idle problem still!

#2oh, here's whats been done!
Replaced air temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, crank sensor, stepper motor, tried a mates tb, fuel system cleaned, ht leads, sparks, tappets adjusted, fuel, air and oil filters replaced and tb cleaned. -
#3Maybe a fuel injector not running right.
-
#4its a single point injection and when changed the throttle body it had a recon'ed injector :/ so still no closer to working it out

#5It's not something daft like an air leak somewhere is it? Ligt up a ciggy and blow smoke into the vacuum hose see if any leaks out anywhere.
