Hi everyone my car today was bashing from the rear end the little bolt for arb rear has snap and the thread has gone now I'm stuck I don't want to change the hole axle as it a fresh one with new parts fitted now which are my options to fix please
Can I weld them up with a bolt inside position or drill strate throw please help

I think you could try and weld a nut onto whats left to get the thread out or you could drill it out and re-tap the hole then fit a slightly bigger bolt. I've put stainless bolts in mine now as I think they're a bit stronger and obviously don't rust

I was advised against stainless arb bolts for rear arbs, they also need to be a special strength tensile bolt - stainless is too brittle so I was told . Speak to swampy he sells them

well obviously a welder if you do it that way or if you drill it you need a drill and a good drill bit and a tap and die set. I would get a link but im too tired now lol.. stainless bolts have been fine for me for about a year but just get whats best im no bolt expert. could also use an extracting tool to get the thread out but your a bit buggered if that snaps off in the hole aswell

Could get a reverse threaded drill bit and as you drill in it may loosen what's left of the bolt or infact pull it out for you? There's lots of things with opposite threads these days so you can tap into stuff and remove it that way :-)

Kool all I wana do is make the hole bigger than make a new thread so your saying I can get any size drill bit and when I put it on to reverse it will make a new thread so I'm off to focus or home base tommorow and what's is the name of the drill bit called I.e because it needs to be a special peace don't it

If you want to drill the old one out in the old fashioned method and put a bigger bolt in you need a good metal drill bit and a tap and dye set.

My post above was a left threaded drill bit to tap into what's left of the existing bolt in the hope it will loosen it.. You could try a stud extraction kit too or something else? Depends of there's any of the bolt left sticking out :-)
