Knocking from Drivers side front

   In the past few days my car has developed a knocking noise from what sounds like the drivers side front wheel. It occurs when I go over small bumps, but it doesn't knock every time I go over one. I thought it would be the suspension bushes, but just now as I was reversing onto my drive (which has a small curb onto it) with full lock on the knock was quite loud! Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

   Just check all of the usual stuff..
   
   3x13mm nuts on each strut top.
   19mm (iirc) on top of each front strut.
   Large nut which holds shok into the strut. Use a pipe wrench!
   Bottom arm bolts.
   Check for play in ball joint with a pinch bar.
   Check for play in shafts.
   
   Etc etc..

   checked it all, no play at all :/ maybe its not from the O/S front, cant decide now if its coming from the middle of the car and the noise is just decieving me?
