squeaking on start

   When I start the car and go to pull off there is a screeching sound, I've had this problem before and it was the drive belt. Am I having same problem as it seems pretty tight and only a tiny bit of slack (like there's meant to be) in it
   
   Any help would be nice please

   Get someone to sit in the car with engine running get them to raise the revs whilst you listen to the engine with the bonnet up.

   Something very similar happened to my friends saxo, it had something to do with the alternator. Might be a good idea to check it out ???

   Check your belts, also my 106 did this for a while and in the end it was my clutch slipping.. Check the tension on the belts, also for any cracks..damaged teeth

   Mines doing exactly the same at the minute, many of my friends think that it has something to do with the alternator or drive belt. Im going to check it out soon, when i find out what it is, ill tell you

   it was my alternator belt last time not my drive belt although im thinking these are the same thing, how many belts is there and where do i check them?

   its the alternator pulley mate my dads mk4 golf did the same

    could be the fan belt, did that on my corsa
