Hi all, I bought an eBay special 4-2-1 manifold the other day and fitted it, there's a bit of a bracket underneath with a bolt hole near the sump but doesn't go any where a hole on the engine. You recon it's alright to leave as it is or do I need to make some sort of other bracket to attach it to the engine??
4-2-1 manifold bracket??

#2It usually connects to the gearbox... But I've read many member's cracking/snapping the mount of the manifold by doing this..
Ive never bolted either of my manifolds to gearbox.. and they're totally fine (40k road miles) -
#3as above it bolts to gear box, but as said on both mine that bracket has snapped and also made a hole in the pipe. so now i have left it unbolted and dont have any problems with it at all

#4mine snapped the bracket, so i welded it back on very well, then it snapped the thread i used.
put some m10 thread into the box with two nuts between it and the exhaust bracket, then one on the other side of the bracket. do one nut up hard to the box, then do the other two up to the manifold bracket.
its very simple but hard to write it in a clear to understand way. i personally dont bother any more though -
#5Cheers all nice a easy decision there, I'll leave it alone
