Lowering measurements

  1. #1
Sorry if this has been posted before, I don't frequent here much and searching came up with pages of irrelevant results.

I was just wondering, when you buy lowering springs and it says 40mm is this the measurement for a flat arch? As I heard VT's are 20ish mm lower than a flat arch. So for example a 40mm kit would only actually lower a VT 20mm. Is this right or am I chatting rubbish?

Just debating between a 40mm and 60mm kit, and want to know exactly how much lower it's going to be.

    Hope that makes sense.

Not as far as I'm aware, the vt kit sits lower itself so appears too make the far look lower.

Not sure mate, but here it mentions 10mm less on the additional information tab.

not a set 20mm lower the whole range do sit differently though

its due to the different engine weights of the cars
so a vts has more weight up front than a 1.1 and therefor sits lower if you put the same springs on both cars its not much but it does
ive seen people fit 1.1 springs on vts to get a slightly lower drop ect
tbh i wouldnt care its a few mm difference in them all if you just want it lower and nothing specific then you wont really notice a few mm

id find which height you prefer the look of fitted and go for that
