Running lumpy

  1. #1
On the way back from FCS, i felt my car running very lumpy and juddering when cruising and decelerating at speeds of around 50-70 mph.

When i accelerate it stops and pulls like normal and doesnt do this when going over 80-85 mph which is why im so confused on the matter . :/

I have no idea what the problem might be so any help is great.

    One of these?

It also takes a while to stabilize idling when cold ie it flouts around 4k to 10k revs and even cut out this morning when revs dropped. after about a minute it settles at 9k-10k revs.

10k revs or 1k? if its 10k don't drive it lol, i think you mean 1k, usual faults with idling are down to idle control valve

Yeah 1K revs... Lol. Thought it was the icv so cleaned it didnt work so got a new one but its still doing it...

I had a look earlier and heard a sucking noise coming from and around the throttle body. I rested my finger on the top of the throttle body where the icv goes in and the sucking noise stopped and began to run and idle nicely.....

Seems to be a leak where the icv goes in the throttle body. Ill get a pic where its coming from tomorrow.

Has anyone had this problem, hpw did you fix it?

Thanks mandy for suggesting map sensor and ill order one anyway, but im sure its the leak......

if you think you've found a solution, don't order one! when map sensor played up on mine, the idle rose and dropped very very rythmically, not erratically. you did fit the o-ring to the new icv didn't you?

Yes I did mate... Double checked if it had any splits in it as well earlier. Its a little triangle cut out on the throttle body where the 'leak' is coming out.
