Spacers, 6j and tyres questions-Help please!

Right after having looked at the wheel/tyre guide (thanks Curran!) I am still at a bit of a loss! The wheels i have to go on are 4x108 6j et20. So i will need 5mm spacers to get them where they are now with the S alloys on? but if i want a bit of spacing out more flush with the arch what can i go to? 25 or 30mm?

Also are S wheels 6 or 7j as the wheels i have are 6j does that make difference?

I am running 283mm front brake setup any probs with these either?

and finally....tyre size, have a set of brand new RS2's 195/45's in the garage are they okay for the wheel size or too wide?

    Big thanks in advance

No one can really tell you what spacers you need as your the only one that knows how far out you want them to stick just get a tape measure and decide for your self, but yes 5 mm spacers are what you need to get them where your s wheels are, I'm sure s wheels are 7j, this just means your new wheels will sit an inch further away from the inner arch with 5mm spacers, I've had 195 tyres on my 6.5j rallye steels and they were a bit too wide I personally would've thought 195's would be way too wide for 6j alloys IIRC vtr wheels are 6j and they have 185s, I also had 195s on my 8j alloys they had a tiny amount of stretch and imo were perfect

And you haven't said the diameter of wheels so no one can tell you weather they'll fit over your brakes lol

they are 6j 15" compo's mate, as far as spacing i just want them spaced out as even the S's sit well in. I was thinking either 25 or 30mm all round as minus 5mm for the et20 anyways so they will be spaced 20-25mm.

The tyres i would have thought 195/45/15 should be okay? i did have 195's on a set of R alloys a while ago?

    195 45 15s will be best :-)
And if you want them to fill the arches you will need some 25mm or maybe wider spacers.. Depends what you can find though :-)

They should fit over your brakes fine mate I've got 283s and my housemates comps fitted over them

The comps fitted straight over without spacers
