both dipped not working. coincidence or something else?

noticed one of my bulbs stopped working on dipped beam the other day, but works on main beam. the other headlight was fine.
2 days later same things happened to the other headlight. so now i have no working dipped but full working main beams.
the bulbs are H1 so i know both dipped and main run off the same bulb and the dipped and main have a separate circuit inside the bulb.
the bulbs came with my angel eyes and when i did my engine conversion last month one of the bulbs blew and a mate had a spare. so i have 1 my mate gave me and 1 that came with the angel eyes (these are the ones that have just blown on dipped). so is it just a coincidence they have both gone now?
as i say was about a 2 day gap they both went.
mite be me over worrying its something else but wanted to make sure before i spend £20 on some decent bulbs

Cheapest option first so new bulbs, quite common if one bulb blows the other one will blow soon as well always see it happen at work.

    as above is first

basically its desinged to run on two..if one pops alot more power will go through the other

why you often get blinded by bell ends who are to lazy to change a bulb thats gone on off as the other shines so bright

if theyre old it may just melt the other as its not used to shining so bright/getting so hot

ok so been avoiding driving at night as had other problems to splash money out on. anyways back to this, bought some new bulbs today and no luck. checked fuses and both look good so all i can think now is wiring. could it be anything else before i strip and check the wires?

sorted. made a noob mistake, didnt realise on angel eyes the dipped and main beams run off separate bulbs unlike saxos standard headlight running them off the same bulbs. phew, thought i was gonna have to piss about with wiring
