back box

I have searched the forum for an answer to this but am still not any wiser,

I have a standard Furio mk2, and am just wanting to make it sound a bit louder.

If I was to fit say a, 4" back box, would this make much difference at all?

I have seen a few threads where people have said that magnex back boxes don't really affect the sound at all, maybe just a deeper tone?

De-cat isn't really an option either

    Thanks in advance

You have a catalytic convertor in the exhaust system which is meant to cut down on harmful exhaust emissions.By removing the CAT you de-restrict the exhaust system & free up the exhaust gases. Now you won`t notice an almighty gain in performance but decatting along with a full race exhaust system(including manifold)should free up some bhp.

    Cheers for the reply,

forgot to mention need to keep the cost down,

Would you say that a back box along the lines on magnex 3 - 4" will make a difference on it's own?

not sure about furios but, is the cat in the manifold or on the centre section?

if its in the manifold you'll need a decat manifold, if its in the centre section just get a straight through pipe and your back box of choice mate
also if its in your centre section it'll take 2 mins to swap round and whack the old centre section in with the cat for mot

if the cats under your car ill can supply you with a decat system but you would need to get a back box!

Think it's on the centre but could be wrong,

would just a back box on it's own make any difference at all? as I need to keep the cost down, with insurance costs etc..

heard that magnex back boxes aren't supposed to be that loud? can you shed any light?

    cheers

tbh mate id get the straight through pipe with it, and as for insurance if youre gonna declare your back box it would include the straight through and manifold on the insurance if you had one too so there would be no difference if that made any sense atall?

just ordered a magnex 4" back box, get it fitted onto my car and then just take it from there I suppose.

Can somebody please link me to an air filter which will fit a mk 2 furio? ideally quite cheap?

    cheers!
