Vts performance

Basically I have Vts lump with gmc ultimate road cams, basic map on standard ecu for cams and breathing mods(still runs slightly lumpy on idle)and still with 1.4 gearbox. Been running it few months now and only just started to realise that it really should be quicker, only just beats standard vts's. Any thoughts anyone?

    down to the driver

proper map will make a huge difference. not too sure what the furio boxes are like

Put a vts box back on citroen use them for a reason

1.4 box is same as vtr except 1st and 2nd are shorter. wouldnt recommend it for the vts though. get a vts box on it and a remap and if its not had one for a while a good service (plugs, oil, filter etc) that may help if not been done.

I think chris's answer is probably most reasonable, I know what you guys are saying about the s box but that effects top end more than anything.

What the weights of the cars? A cammed vts will not be that much quickier than standard. There are other factors like chris said, also weight, how the power delivered, gear changes ect,

    Lower's top end
(but gets there better than the furio box.. as your higher rev'd / more in the powerband.)

    Increases acceleration

Box will be making a big difference.

I do have a full on boot build which I'm considering taking out due to weight and downsizing it :/
I suppose I'll be doing the gearbox then

Fuel economy, reliability, cost etc.. Point one for the most part, as best compromise.

    1.1 box for me.
