A mate said he will sell me a K&N air filter for £15,

what will be needed to do to fit this? I am aware of heat soak etc..but not sure what to do to prevent it, as I'm not very mechanically minded...

Will this filter replace the existing standard air box? if so, Is there any way of it wrecking my car?

basically, What I want to know is... What is the worst that could happen if I put on a K&N?

    Cheers

worst thing i can think of is if you aren't sure and it didnt get fitted correctly and it falls off and shit gets in the engine highly unlikey i'd imagine haha

K&n will be just for sound. Unless you want to start making a plate up and fixing it to deflect heat you may suffer bogging down regularly.

Would anybody recommend using this? if so, would it be easy to attach to a K&N air filter?

more importantly, is it going to actually do what it says?

Don't think I'll be bothering now to be honest, just took my car for a run with my new magnex and it has a real nice tone, and can be fairly loud when I wanted it to be.

If it sucks in any hot air your car will have less power and will use more fuel... I would get a cold air feed if you can! If you want more help, just say. Post a picture of your engine bay too and we can give you a suggestion of how to get a better tone, higher MPG and more power!

checked yours out earlier! looking forward to seeing it all done mate,

as for which colour options on your sax, I'd go Red and white

I'll try and make a progress thread the next few days, most of the mods I've done have been carried out over the months I've had the car (when I could be bothered)
