Serious vibration.......

My saxo has a serious vibration. I've recently changed to vts lump. All was well until I hit a pot hole on drivers side? There was instantly a vibration. Which starts as soon as engine is on. And it gets worse as the revs go up. You can also feel the vibration when you brake. Although the vibration nearly stops when the clutch pedal is down......!?!? What the fuck is up with my car lol

driveshaft is fucked by the sounds of it

or engine mount..dont think it would be much else

Sometimes when an engine mount is f*cked you can visibly see the engine sat on an angle, worth checking for.

Driveshaft seems solid??? And I've looked the mounts, nothing seems wrong with those either???

Driveshafts can still be solid. I had one cause vibration at certain speeds. Could be inner shaft causing it.

Thing that's getting Nevis that it's vibrating when still and in neutral?

    Nut and bolt check required.

It is really pissing me off. I've rung a garage and they say either mount or pulley, but I've checked and they're fine.... Aarrrgggghhhhhhh

Looking at them isn't a good diagnostic lol.

    Try tightening them?

Was the horrible noise constant? Or was it only when moving??? And wen I say check i mean I tightened them haha. By the looks of it my top mount has a little too much play in it, but the two top bolts won't tighten anymore. Ganna try the bottom bolt and see what happens

could be anything on your suspension to be honest.

It'll be a mount or shaft

Could possibly be the pulley failing if it's a vts as they're not single mass

But id say if it's vibrating when standing still it'll be a mount

Looking at them generally will tell you fuck all lol, I've had snapped mounts that looked fine, needs to rock the engine and or try gettin pry bars in and seeing how much you can move them with the lever, checking for cracks or splits as you go

Get a mate to stand infron of the car with bonnet open and you try pulling away but not actually moving a few times, may give you an idea of which mount to check

I'll give that a try, thanks
