Clutch

When i push my clutch in it feels abit grindy... the car drives fine, goes into gear well and all is good but just feelys abit grindy when pressing the lcutch in and releasing. The car is kinda rusty in some places and i have a feeling the car was sitting for a while before i got it... any ideas on what to do next before the clutch fucks up while im driving?

    cheers guys!

sounds like the bearings in the thrust bearing have gone dry. they may start to make some noise soon if this is the case.

The above is the most likely.

Will this cause any problems for me? Any way I can fix this? Cheers

Unfortunately if it is this the clutch release bearing will start to sieze up and once it reaches a point wil break up and leave you struggling to change gear if not stranded. The only course of action is a new one, and since it's a gearbox out job to replace its worth doing the clutch at the same time.
Of course none of us have driven your car so we can't 100% guarantee it's that but it sounds like it and they are pretty common.

I've done a good few Saxo clutches and if you fancy a bit of a road trip to Milton Keynes I can sort yours for a sensible amount of money. Basically you need to take the gearbox out to swap it. If you have a good amount of tools and a bit of mechanical savvy it wouldn't be too hard to do. Make sure a mate or two gives you a hand though as there's a good few chances to squish yourself.

    Feel free to pm me.
