    hey guys,

My CD player button does not work so when i want to turn my cd player on and off, i have to pull the whole thing out and pull the connection at the back out so the battery light will turn off on my car...

I just fixed the power button to connected it back up turned it on and then off but the battery light is still on ... my keys arnt in the ignition and when i turn it off and on the battery light stays on. but when i start the car up and drive off it goes off so thats good but when the car is off ... if the cd player is connected in any way atall, the battery light comes on and wont go off untill i disconnect it.

    Any help?

Maybe a fault on the cd player or a live wire in the wrong place.

Its sounds like youve got the permanent live bridged to your ignition live which is powering it in reverse.

Do you want the stereo to be on all the time or turn off when you take the key out?

Has your ignition barrel/switch been tampered with in the past?

Fit a diode to ignition live, that would sort it.

welll on my old ford escort, i could switch the cd player on without the keys in but could also turn it off by pressing ht epower button then the battery light would go off... but in this case the battery light stays on all the time if the cd player is pluged in atall so i have to keep dissconnecting it from the back. Im not very good with electrics but i can follow some simple instructions lol... i jsut dnot want the battery light to stay on when the cd player is connected mate.

    Cheeeeersss
