Well my power steering rack has killed itself, and i am preparing to undertake what i already know is going to be a horrible repair....

ive got myself a good set of tools, a new rack and a haynes manual, am just looking for some tips/advice/a guide as to how to do it from anyone thats done it before?

im average at mechanics and not an expert so treat me like a simpleton

    any help much appreciated

hey man. i replaced my power steering pump recently and the pump is the biggest pain in the backside to remove. its got two bolts on the side one in the most awkward place ever and two on the bottom with clips attatched and two on top that are tiny and hold the pump in place.... maybe i found it hard because i didnt know what tools i needed and i didnt have aq manual but good luck mate youu said you have the right toools and a manual so im sure it wont take too long

you may have to take off the inlet manifold to get better access to it. careful you dont round off the torx bolts that hold it on.

to bleed it, iv heard that you have to fill the resorvoir and turn steering wheel ...full lock to full lock, if thats the case, it sounds piss easy lol.
