Help

I can't get a diagnostics computer to read my 2000 saxo vts,I've tried around 6 different ones and the closest I got would read my airbags(no fault) and breaks(no fault)but when it came to engine management or ignition side of it it keeps saying connection error,don't fancy paying citroën silly money,any advice would be great,thanks
