fuel guage, clocks

   my fuel guage has started telling me lie's..
   
   when i start the car, the fuel guage goes up to full, down to empty 3 times, it ends at under empty,.. give it ten mins and i think it tells me the correct level of fuel, then look at it again and its back to under empty..
   
   clocks or somethin else failed?

   Fuel gauge sender faulty.

   SOunds like a bad earth wire I've had this problem on 3 vts s in the past

   You get used to it after about a year.
   
   But yeh, fuel sender unit under rear bench. It just gets knocked down the list of things to do every month.

   I thought it was my earth wire but checked and ok so changed the clocks and now the gauge is working correct
