Ticking noise...

   Hi everyone, my saxo vtr has recently been making a ticking noise coming from under the bonnet but it gets faster when you accelerate, I've been told it could be the tappets, is this a bad thing? What does it mean? Cheers

   Not 'that' bad.. but will be wearing out faster than they should. Get a garage to set them up for you, Won't take long/cost alot.
   
   Could also be a loose sparkplug. I'd check those, as if they get shot out.. they take all the thread from the head with them.

   Don`t rule out the injectors ticking either.

   Mine turned out to be this, think it was actually Stevo who might have pointed me in that direction on here originally actually haha!
   
   If it's injectors I think it only usually does it once warmed up and sounds as though it's coming through the drivers side front wing. My mechanic told me not to worry about it when I mentioned it to him though, so left it as I didn't keep car much longer.

   sounds to me like it needs a good service mine did that and quiatened down after :O
